Winter is the season for statement styles and accessories! This time of year is always packed with activities, from office parties to Christmas shopping, so it’s important to look your best. In this blog our head of education Laura Elliott reveals five winter hair trends you’ll see everywhere this season.

1. Icy blonde

As the name suggests, this shade of blonde is perfect for the cooler months. Icy blonde adds a silky shimmer to your look, combining white snowy shades with a sleek silver hue. This look allows you to fit right in with the winter aesthetic surrounding you. To maintain icy blonde hair, use a specialist toning products like our BLONDE Purple Shampoo and Conditioner to keep brassy hues at bay. 2. Pixie cut

Capture the magic of winter with this elegant fairy-inspired style. This bold, edgy look can be achieved by having short hair at the back and sides, but longer hair on top. Pixie cuts are really easy to maintain, meaning you can spend less time styling and more time relaxing into the winter months. We’d recommend washing hair with a solution like our AMPLIFY Volumising Shampoo and Conditioner to create the ideal base for textured locks. Finish with a styling product that can be sprayed on damp hair for the ultimate lift. View our product: UPLIFT Volumising Hair Mist

3. Ombre

End the year with statement hair! Ombre is incredibly popular around winter time, with many looking to add dimension and depth to their tresses. This hairstyle consists of a transition from a darker root to a lighter end - which makes sense, as ‘ombre’ comes from the French for ‘shaded’. Deep colour shades work best with a healthy looking shine, so we’d suggest using nourishing products to lock in moisture. Browse our solutions: HYDRATE Moisture Collection

4. Dutch Braids

Did you know braids can protect your hair from the cold? The harsh winter air can cause your hair to become dry and damaged, but styles like Dutch braids can help to keep it safe. This look is similar to French braids, but you plait underneath rather than over the top, for a 3d effect. Once your look is complete, apply a hair spray evenly over the hair in a sweeping motion to keep in place. Learn more: CONTROL Flexible Styling Spray

5. Bows

Add one of the key editions of the season to your look. We saw bows soar in popularity last year and we expect to see the same this winter - and they’re always easy to find this time of year! Whether you opt for a small, pretty bow or a large, statement bow, the feminine accessory is sure to make an impact. Bring further focus to your hair with a touch of volume, using a buildable spray to enhance shape. View our product: TEXTURE Dry Texture & Finishing Spray
